How does an Online Interior Design Service Work?

With the steady increase of clients with either significant time constraints or personal commitments, an online interior design service is provided for ease and convenience.

Initial contact is usually made via phone or e-mail with meetings and presentations conducted via video call thereafter.

What the online service includes –

  1. LAYOUTS for furniture, lighting, ceiling fan and/or power & data, depending on your requirements
  2. DESIGN CONCEPTS for specific rooms or an entire property with recommendations for colour schemes, floor, wall, ceiling and/or other special finishes, also furniture, lighting, ceiling fans, window treatments, rugs and accessories.
    Design concepts are presented on mood boards with images of interiors and products as well as material samples. 3D renderings can also be provided to visualise rooms.
  3. PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS with an itemised list of products (furnishings, fabric, finishes, etc.), specifications, quantities, prices, and estimated labour and installation costs.
    Product specifications are particularly useful towards determining the cost of the overall project, whether in the case of a new-build property still under construction or an existing property with a plan to refurbish at a later date.

By separate agreement, a PROJECT MANAGEMENT SERVICE can also be offered to coordinate and supervise the delivery and installation of all furnishings, etc. to ensure the seamless execution and handover of the final product.

The Process, Step by Step -

  • A meeting is first arranged to discuss the project, either via phone or video call, towards achieving a general sense of your design requirements and personal style.
  • Pictures and/or basic drawings are then shared online for the purpose of determining the size and scope of work, which is then followed by the preparation of a fee proposal for your approval.
  • A preliminary presentation of layouts and design concepts are presented and discussed via video call with your comments and feedback noted towards the preparation of any tweaks or revisions
  • A revision of layouts and design concepts are presented via video call towards the preparation of product specifications, and estimated labour and installations costs.
  • Final layouts and product specifications are submitted

The time-frame for the online interior design service depends on the scope and size of the project and could range from two to 8 weeks depending on your requirements and preferences.
